I helped the president of AERA to pilot this project during the 2013 conference. The goal is to engage conference participants in local social justice issues related to research presented at the conference. This involves coordinating with local educational organizations to identify and supervise projects (e.g., fundraisers and community service). Based upon this initial pilot, I worked with the Division J Vice President to integrate this initiative as a fixture of the conference experience.
